Domaine de La Salle is an old cognac growing estate but its history goes back much further.
The front of the house was built by Jean-Baptiste Joachim Clemot, in 1826. This is Napoleonic
style but the rest of the house which is behind is in typical Charentais french style built lime stone.
There are two large courtyards and woods and fields all around. We are building up an small organic
farm with fruit trees and cereals. From here, there are many historical villages and gallo-roman remains
but also the beaches are only half an hour away. Ile D’Oleron and the cote sauvage with great surfing are 40 minutes away.
We offer a gite which is the oldest cottage like part of the building, with two spacious bedrooms with both indoor and outdoor living space. We also have a few chambre d’hotes ( bed and breakfast rooms )
We have a calendar of workshops from sourdough bread-making to sewing and everything in-between.
